Cliff Richard

Cliff Richard

Sir Cliff Richard, OBE (born Harry Rodger Webb; 14 October 1940) is a British pop singer, musician, performer, actor, and philanthropist who has sold over an estimated 250 million records worldwide. With his backing group The Shadows, Richard, originally positioned as a rebellious rock and roll singer in the style of Little Richard and Elvis Presley, dominated the British popular music scene in the pre-Beatles period of the late 1950s and early 1960s. His 1958 hit single "Move It" is often described as Britain''s first authentic rock and roll song, and John Lennon once claimed that "before Cliff and the Shadows, there had been nothing worth listening to in British music." A conversion to Christianity and subsequent softening of his music later led to a more middle of the road pop image, sometimes venturing into gospel music. Over a 53-year career, Richard has become a fixture of the British entertainment world. He has amassed hundreds of gold and platinum discs and awards, including three Brit awards and two Ivor Novello awards. He has had more than 130 singles, albums and EPs make the UK Top 20, more than any other artist. He holds the record (with Elvis Presley) as the only act to make the UK singles charts in all of its first six decades (1950sâ[][]2000s). He has achieved 14 UK No. 1 singles (or 18, depending on the counting methodology) and is the only singer to have had a No. 1 single in the UK in six consecutive decades: the 1950s through to the 2000s (discounting digital downloads and counting only CDs, he also had a UK No. 1 single in the 2000s). He is the biggest selling singles artist of all time in the UK, with total sales of over 27 million and UK album sales of over 18 million. He has sold more than 150 million singles worldwide.[citation needed]

Sorry, there are no shows on sale for Cliff Richard right now.

Just been to Powderham. Our seats were also changed from 2nd row from front to side view, 8 rows back. Surely there is a case for trade description act and office of fair trading. We are looking into this. What we could see(Sometimes by standing and blocking everyone elses view) was a brilliant Cliff.

We also are extremely disappointed and furious that the tickets we booked (centre of stage and 6 rows back) were changed to the extreme site block and 15 rows back. My only view was the heads in front of me and the extreme right hand corner of the stage. We talked to the people in our original seats and they seem to have booked at the same time as us. It is obvious that the seats were DOUBLE BOOKED. Why can't the organisers have come clean rather than say they changed the seating to 'maximise fans experience'.

Very Disappointed with the seating changes, we were moved from the centre 7 rows back to the side 7 rows back. Had problems seeing Cliff and other artist. This shouldn't be allowed when you have picked a seat yourself and they just change. to suit themselves at 6 six weeks notice. I will never go to a open air concert again this has really put me off!

We must be the lucky ones. We have got better seats now at Harewood and Powderham but do agree that this sort of thing should not be going on once they have taken the money.

Quite agree. They've had our money for months now and suddenly we have worse seats and they have the cheek to say it's for the better - only for their pockets I would imagine.

It's not just Powderham they've changed the seating layout for...just found out they've done it for the County ground at Hove where I've booked tickets for my Mum. Had the best tickets for her originally (especially as she has trouble walking these days) and now it looks like they're going to be further back... really, really cross this has been done at all, let alone 6 weeks before the concert. The layout should have been thought about properly before tickets went on sale, not at this late stage. Think she might be rather upset when I have to tell her tomorrow... thanks for nothing, concert organisers, shame on you.

Very disappointer with the change in sitting arrangements for Powderham Castle. I deliberately booked early to get seats directly in front of the stage. I have been a life long fan of Cliff, 50 + years, and this is the first and only time I will have the chance to see him live. Futher back and to the side of the stage was not what I booked. I'm seroiusly thinking of asking for a refund.

thought change of layout may be a problem for us a hatfield house but have been moved from block b to block a at side so think it will be ok.

Not happy that we now have different seats due to change of layout at Powderham as had picked seats for view - the new ones don't look so good. Very disappointed that this had happened. Don't remember seeing any warning that this may happen.

Very, Very Disappointed that Cliff is not coming to Birmingham or Cardiff. We are ardent Cliff fans and it's difficult for us to get to other venues.
