Rated 5 out of 5 by Marillionaire from Absolutely unique ... a musical genius! My first ever experience of David Ford 'live' was an awesome evening of expert musicianship, wordsmithery and humour. Assisted very ably by Michele Stodart and JP Ruggieri. Amazing value for money!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by ptbarker from Strange Show Normally I love a David Ford show, I've been following him for years, travelling up and down the country, and on the odd occasion when he plays my home town. This show was on one of the hottest days of the year, and inside the venue was even hotter. I say this is a strange show, it was a full band show (anybody that knows Ford knows that his normal full band show is him and a loop pedal), that is unusual but most of the show (at least a third) was made up of new material which I hadn't heard, and that makes a show automatically more difficult, with this new material it meant that there was less time for older material, and some of Fords's older stuff seems to be being dropped from the set. This is a difficult one because I wonder if I will go to another Ford show if I know I'm not likely to hear many tracks I like, and because Ford only generally does 12 - 15 songs a show its not like he's increasing his set length to accommodate the new tracks. Ford as always puts in every effort into his performance, and he is genuinely moving and passionate when he performs. The highlight of this show the lights blew a fuse during one song, where we moved to the car park and Ford performed Isn't It Strange on an acoustic guitar, which was singularly wonderful. Few notes about the venue, £2.60 for a lemonade (no ice..) There seemed to be a number of regulars knocking about clearly not there for the gig which was strange, there were a couple of gig idiots shouting after every song, which get's lost in an arena, but in a small venue, yes, David can hear you..

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jules D from David Ford - great find! Booked to see David Ford on recommendation of friend who said he was the best live performer he had ever seen. DF did not disappoint. Gritty, intelligent, thought provoking all round musician and singer. Able to adapt and get everyone out in the car park for an acoustic track when the lights failed on stage. Brilliant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Slush from Best gig in years The venue for this gig was fantastic, great views no matter where you stood as stage is quite high, sound was spot on too, staff were friendly and helpful drinks were reasonably priced. The show itself opened with JP Ruggieri with David Ford Michele Stodart [ formerly from the Magic Numbers] playing keyboards bass and other various instruments, JPs set was full of catchy songs and was amazing, after a very short break the band came back on where Michele performed some of her solo stuff again really good, then came Davids part of the show which was filled with some fantastic tune and music as well as a lot of fun and humour the guys on stage really seemed to be enjoying themselves as did the crowd who were very responsive, the evening was finished with a silent encore cheer from the crowd, best song of the gig for me was Waiting For The Storm, beautiful tune. A fantastic 3 hours plus of great music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Laney Williams from David Ford I have seen David Ford a few times in Manchester but I will never forget the first time I ever saw him when he was support act to Suzanne Vega at Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool. His performance just blew me away. He engaged well with the audience and I don't think anybody moved when he did his final song State of the Union everybody was just gripped and couldn't take their eyes of him. He is one of the best acts I have seen! . . . .

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mayonnaise from David Ford - Excellent as always! I'm a huge fan, and you never know what to expect from David Ford, his concerts vary considerably. This time he brought two new artists with him, and gave them an opportunity to be showcased. They both performed 5-6 of their own songs which reduced the time we had hearing David perform . It was really good to hear some new stuff from the forth coming album as well! Did miss the usual "Greatest Hits", but as always incredible tickets for the money. Always good value and the chance to see a very talented artist up close and personal! Superb!
