What people are saying about Glen Hansard
Rated 5 out of 5 by 0james from Fantastic performance Despite the large venue, at no point did I need to queue to enter or to exit. Glen Hansard performed excellently, with a set nearly 3 hours long and thoroughly entertaining.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Orli from My favourite ever event After waiting to see Glen Hansard for a long time I could not wait and he did not disappoint. He is by far one of the best musicians I have seen live. I had great fun and would have been very happy for the night to have continued into the early hours listening to Glen and his amazing band play, sing and banter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JosieDublin3 from My No. 1 gig of my life so far! I have seen Glen Hannsard many times over the years both as a solo artist and with his band, The Frames. I'm a true fan so I've never been disappointed, but this gig, for me, was something very different. Glen has this way of making you feel special, like you're the only person in the room and he's singing to you. I'm pretty sure he's not even aware of this talent he has and the loveliness he exudes. I don't wish to take from anyone else's experience of the evening but I'm pretty sure he was singing exclusively to me last night! The whole show from start to finish was magical, his voice is phenomenal, he has a passion for music that is rarely as apparent in live performances and he has this exhuberance for life that is inspirational. He is the most unaffected, unpretentious person you could meet and I've been lucky enough to meet him. His stories are so engaging and leave you hanging on his every word and wanting more. I loved that he brought Stephen James Smith over for this show, he is someone I wasn't aware of before but I was so taken by his performance I wanted to leap out of my seat and start screaming with the excitement of it all. I love that Glen saw the magic in him and wanted to share it with his audience. I'm frantically typing this on the bus home from Paddy's day drinks in London Town and I'm blissfully aware that I haven't even paused for a paragraph! I'm afraid if I don't finish before I get off the bus I won't post it. I haven't even commented on the music, every tune is perfectly crafted and beautifully melodic. I almost cried when he played Fitzcarraldo, my favourite Frames' song. The whole band are fantastic from the violinists to the pianist to the brass section, everyone is wholly involved in the performance which makes it all the more intimate. The only downside for me was when Glen was hanging off the balcony, I couldn't watch for fear he was going to plunge to his death! Oh and his rendition of Bowie's Ashes to Ashes, I'm almost in tears at this point. Oh... This is my stop.
