With the launch of their new EP ‘surely’ The Quangos are bringing back the sound of the 60s with a modern twist. With fans such as Shaun and Bez from the Happy Mondays to up and coming stars such as Miles Kane, the boys are set to put a massive dent in the music scene this year.

In 2010 a Quango 3 piece formed, not happy with the sound they drafted in a young Drew Palmer on bass which let Phil Nixon add the 60s guitar licks the band needed creating their original sound of old and new which in turn created Rock “n” Soul. All under 22 and ready to put their own stamp on the world, they impress critics with their cheeky looks and vintage sound.

This combination has made them hugely popular in the right circles. Fred Perry got in touch and wanted to sponsor the boys and an article in their subculture magazine will be coming very soon.

Their eclectic taste in music only adds flavour to all their own… You can hear the soul cutting through in the voice of Lead singer Josh Goddard mixed with gritty Manchester twang… Truly original. Influences run deep with the likes of Spencer Davis Group, Otis Redding and Ray Charles to name but a few. The Beatles too are a massive inspiration with their cheeky looks and top harmonies, there is a similarity not to be missed.

The Quangos are bringing the guitar band back with all guns blazing and all girls screaming… With their cheeky faces and mop top hair doo’s they are hard not to love.

They are set out for big things in 2012, so keep an eye out for big support slots, top festivals and more banging tunes.
