Rated 5 out of 5 by brianhuk from One of the best this year. This was a gift from my wife, I couldn't believe after been a fan for years, that I was finally going to see them up close & personal. Plus I actually got to meet a couple of the band members outside a coffee shop in Doncaster, great guys, very approachable. Even dedicated a song to me during the set. Thanks wifey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Loobie from One of the best gigs I've ever been to. I saw Ugly Kid Joe in Sheffield about a month ago, loved it so much I walked out of the venue and booked tickets for the Doncaster gig the next day. The atmosphere was incredible, everyone was there to have a good time. The band were amazing for the second time they blew my mind. I was stood pretty much at the front, they engaged with the crowd and it was clear to see they were enjoying it as much as everyone else. They played a good mixture of both old and new songs and if I'm honest made me feel as if I was 15 again. The only thing I found bizarre was that they were playing in a church. I CANT wait for them to come back again because I will definitely be there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Zaxxaz from Excellent gig in a fantastic venue. I was completely taken aback to find The Factory in Barnstaple. It is on a trading estate outside of town and as a result of that has it's own parking. The venue was very professionally run and all of the staff I spoke to were very friendly and professional. The sound was excellent. A lot of venues have a tendency to push the volume too loud but at The Factory it was perfect whether close to the stage or near the back of the venue. The audio was very clear and well managed with no loss of dynamics. Whoever was doing the mixing was doing a fine job. The bands were also excellent. Fallen State were a local band that had an excellent stage presence and came out with a lot of energy. They were an unexpected slice of greatness that managed to warm the crowd up well. Following them was a guy called Tim Mcmillan. Tim I had seen and met before. A very down to earth guy who plays acoustic guitar and tells stories in such an entertaining way that you would be forgiven for thinking he was a bit crazy. Anyone that can play Slayer on acoustic is fine with me though! Ugly Kid Joe never fail to entertain. Their shows for the past few years have continued to prove that they have lost none of their love for playing and performing and none of their love for a good vibe and a funk feeling. They are one of the most positive heavy rock bands that I know with lyrics that are predominately uplifting and fun-loving. There was an excellent moment where they made some lucky kids day by getting him up on stage to do backing vocals on God**** Devil. They also handled some noisy hecklers very well by dragging out some deeper cuts from their earlier albums. Overall it was a fantastic gig in an amazing venue. I would definitely recommend both the bands and the venue without a seconds thought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by rhian30 from High energy show, lots of fun! I've seen Ugly Kid Joe before and they never disappoint. They didn't this time either. Played all the big tracks and threw a few surprises in too (never thought I'd see an acoustic section). They have such energy on stage and look like they're enjoying themselves so much it's infectious. Excellent musicianship too. Highly recommend catching UKJ play anytime. The band calmed it down when some of the audience got squashed and Whit even got off the stage to make sure they were OK. Love those guys. Always great audience interaction but this was great to see. The support were also good, particularly Tim McMillan who had us laughing out loud and played well. The venue (Southampton Engine Rooms) was good too. It doesn't look much from the outside but it did everything it needed to and sold a good range of drinks. Water was readily available free for hot gig-goers at the end. Plenty of free/cheap (depending on day) parking close by too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Special Jussy from Ugly Kid Joe - O2 Academy Islington Again and again I love going to see UKJ when they come back to England, favourite band and a new location for me, never been there before. Got in and got a good spot at the front to the side so we could get a good view and weren't being squashed, took the wife, kids (in their 20's) and some good friends. Vocals were spot on as usual by Whit, Waterloo Sunset and Mr Recordman were a treat and we had an acoustic session as well which was great. Roll on next time, we'll be there again, no doubt the wife will, she fancied the drummer in his pants who was a complete Looney, but awesome, the vocals, drums, guitar all make for the best evening in a while we all loved it. Thanks to everyone who organized it and to the band.

Rated 5 out of 5 by xion2000 from Ugly Kid Joe at Newcastle Riverside Ugly Kid Joe were awesome. Whitfield Crane must be one of the best frontmen around (and I've seen alot). The venue is superb, small, small, small. Oh did I mention that the venue is small?, just perfect.
