Chris de Burgh

While much has changed since his debut LP, certain things have retained their integrity, as Chris de Burgh releases 'The Hands of Man', his 20th studio album of original new material. "I think you have to grow with your ideas, your songs and your music, and that is what I've tried to do," he says. "On the new record, my intention was to reflect who I am today and the things that I think about." Chris approached many of the new songs from the perspective of not only how they could be performed on stage but, beyond that, how his audience might react to them in the live arena. "When it comes to writing songs, I often think of them as the finished article, in reverse; I imagine people coming out of the theatre or concert hall - after I've done the concert - and talking about it. I ask myself 'Did they enjoy it?' and then I move backwards into the moments of sheer delight and fun and dancing, the whole build-up." Always a prolific touring artist, Chris will have ample opportunity to judge his instincts against the reaction of audiences when he tours the UK this spring in support of 'The Hands Of Man'. The tour will take Chris and band to five UK cities, continuing throughout Europe and on to Canada and North America. For more information, head to
