Albert Lee, by common consent one of the world’s finest guitar players, needs no introduction to country music & rock fans.

First finding fame in the early 60s with Chris Farlowe and the Thunderbirds, he has worked with some of the world’s top artists, from Emmylou Harris to the Everly Brothers, Dolly Parton to Eric Clapton, The Crickets to Joe Cocker.  In November 2002, at Eric’s request, Albert appeared at the star-studded Memorial Concert for George Harrison at London’s Albert Hall, and is a regular guest, alongside the likes of Sheryl Crow and Vince Gill, at Eric Clapton’s annual Crossroads guitar festival in the USA. In the foreword to a new biography of Albert, Clapton writes, “He is a great, great player, fluid, lyrical, and free—like a jazz musician, but with country scales; like Django, but with a bluegrass past.” And Emmylou Harris once said, “When St. Peter asks me to chronicle my time down here on earth, I’ll be able to say, with pride if that’s allowed, that for a while, I played rhythm guitar in a band with Albert Lee.”

He is a member of Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, and fronted the band at the O2 arena on the night of the Led Zeppelin reunion concert. Albert is a Grammy Award-winning musician, whose talents continue to be in demand by fellow performers throughout the world and, as well as a maestro on guitar, he is also a fine singer and piano player too!

This year he is celebrating both his recent 70th birthday and 50 years in the music business with two sold out shows at London’s 900 seat Cadogan Hall. Hosted by Bob Harris, the concerts will be filmed as part of a forthcoming documentary on Albert’s life and career, and which will feature contributions from some of the great names that Albert has worked with over his career.

‘A brilliant guitar player. His sound is unmistakable—often emulated, never equalled.’  - Emmylou Harris

‘One of the finest guitar players who ever walked this earth...’ - Vince Gill

‘The greatest guitarist in the world’ – Eric Clapton
