More information about Hit The North tickets

Music lovers across the North wait with baited breath for Hit The North festival, a day-long musical extravaganza stretching across 11 inner city venues in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

As excitement mounts for the festival, which will be the first of its kind in the City celebrating new and emerging artists from across the UK, we thought it best to give you the low down on everything Hit The North entails.

The Origins…

The Festival is the brainchild of SSD concerts, who last year brought you acts like Catfish & The Bottlemen and Maximo Park in the giant open air events Live from Time Square. The SSD team also received a helping hand from Soul Kitchen Music and Famous 4:15 to help make Hit The North a reality.

The dream was to bring the North East it’s first Metropolitan music festival to rival that of Live at Leeds or The Great Escape. Putting the North on the map as a home for emerging talent as well as a hub for established artists.

The Acts…

The festival boasts some massive headlining talent in the form of outspoken punk duo Slaves. Known for their explosive live performances and rousingly volatile execution, the duo took the UK by Storm back in 2015 with their phenomenal debut Are You Satisfied?  The brash London lads, who most recently were awarded a BPI grant for Music Exports Growth, will be taking over the 02 Academy.

There are huge acts popping up all over the widely diverse line-up, from the viral whirlwind success of rockers The Hunna, to the fast-spitting rhymes of grime MC Lethal Bizzle. Hit the North are ensuring that there’s something for everyone to enjoy on the night.

Let’s not forgetting the reason why we’re all here, priding itself as a music discovery festival, Hit The North’s line-up is exploding with new acts just waiting to become your favourite band. Highlights include 2016 ‘ones to watch’ The Magic Gang, whose harmonious indie-pop tunes infused with 50’s style and alluring melodies are frankly impossible to get out of your head. In addition to soulfully modern songstresses like Bryde and Georgie; sell out acts such as Tom Grennan and Astroid Boys; and local favourites The Pale White and No Teeth.

Plus this is just the beginning, more huge acts will be added in the second wave of announcements coming very soon.

The Venues…

Hit the North is a multi-venue festival, this means that purchasing a Hit the North ticket for 28th April 2017 gains you access to 14 amazing venues jam packed with all the talent the UK has to offer.

Now’s your opportunity to get to know your cities musical blueprint.
