More information about K.O.G & Zongo Brigade + Dizraeli & DownLow tickets

World music enthusiasts Rhythm Passport & The Lizard Stage join forces to bring you an incredible lineup of inspiring UK acts known for their dynamic performances! On Friday May 12th, we invite you to Epic Dalston for an unforgettable night of innovative talent.

Top of the bill is the stellar K.O.G. & The Zongo Brigade, who’ve been effortlessly turning heads since their conception, even being selected from 6,000 acts to place in Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent competition in 2015. The 9 piece deliver notoriously explosive shows lead by Ghanaian “force of nature” K.O.G., which take the crowd on an unforgettable journey through afrobeat, soul, funk and reggae.

Support comes from Dizraeli & DownLow, who will construct a live hip hop show unlike anything you've seen before your very eyes. DJ DownLow lays down eclectic beats whilst MC Dizraeli showcases his ability to nail both rapid flows and lyrical spoken word. These former members of Dizraeli & The Small Gods have been blowing away audiences with their latest incarnation, supporting everyone from the Pharcyde to Mos Def.

Keeping the party going till 2am, it’s the original Movimientos 'dancehall caballero' - DJ Cal Jader - and representing Racubah Soundsystem it’s The Man From Timbuktu! Cal brings his trademark blend of red hot 'classico' latin beats, uptempo carnival rhythms, tropical bass, and fresh global sounds, whilst The Man From Timbuktu has been playing the finest in Afro, Funk, Latin, Tropical and Balkan beats since 1999.

K.O.G. & The Zongo Brigade

The 9-piece deliver infectious West African vibes from Ghana via Sheffield, with diverse origins conflating to whip up their signature heady brew of afrobeat, soul, funk and reggae otherwise dubbed “Afro-fusion”.

With the leadership of K.O.G, the Ghanaian born force of nature, they are a whirlwind of energy, rhythm and hard hitting musical unity which has been taking the U.K. by storm. Summer 2015 saw them play the breadth of the UK festival circuit including Glastonbury via their emerging talent competition, via which they were chosen from over 6000 bands to play the massive West Holts stage.

Having released their debut, the “Akwaaba” Live EP, and a album in the works, they are garnering increasing attention and quickly growing their fan base – things are looking very good for this exhilarating and exceptionally talented band.

Dizraeli & DownLow

Fresh from their debut release 'Everyone's A Winner', Dizraeli & DownLow have been making large movements in the past 12 months, playing support to The Pharcyde, Mos Def, Foreign Beggars, Beardyman and DJ Format, and constructing a live hip hop show unlike anything you've seen before.

Dizraeli & DownLow have long done hiphop PA shows as a sideproject to their band the Small Gods, but the past year saw them step it up to a new level - starting with a show opening for the Foreign Beggars to 3,000 people in Paris and going on to play in Koko, The Clapham Grand and Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London as well as tearing up Boomtown and Shambala festivals, and taking their show on a UK tour.
