Your resident MC Martin Semple will guide you through the bill of Mirth. As a comedian Martin draws comic relief from some of the most high intensity situations of the frecent Gulf conflict. His ability to turn terrifying situations into hilarious material for his work as a comedian mark Martin as a genuinely unique and talented member of the stand-up comedy circuit.
Opening: Ivo Graham. Apologetic Eton and Oxford alumnus Ivo started stand-up in 2009 at the age of eighteen and eight months later became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe. Since graduating three years later he has become a regular fixture in the clubs and theatres of the UK circuit, with a gauche charm and crafty, self-aware wit which has proved a hit with audiences of all ages, and led to appearances on multiple TV and radio shows including Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, Comedy Central At The Comedy Store, As Yet Untitled, Live From the BBC and Fighting Talk. He has also written for various other TV comedy shows, as well as his own sitcom projects in development with Big Talk Productions and the BBC.
Closing: Keith Farnan. Having appeared on BBC’s Michael Mcintyre Comedy Roadshow as well as adapting his own comedy documentary for RTE, Money, Money, Money: Keith Farnan versus the Economy, Keith has just topped an outstanding eighteen months by appearing at the Montreal Just For Laughs All Access show for the Canadian Comedy Network and Hollands highest rating comedy show, The Comedy Factory. In America, Showtime have Keith has appeared on their new standup show, Live From Amsterdam, which brings together the best American and European comedians working today.
He has performed as a stand-up all over the world, from Montreal to Amsterdam to Hong Kong. His four Edinburgh Festival shows have proved a powerful mix of the personal and the political and have sold out their runs at the major comedy festivals in the UK as well as the Soho Theatre and Royal Festival Hall in London.
He is best known for his live storytelling shows and BBC Radio comedy programmes which take a comical and emotional look at family relationships.
Alongside his comedy work, he’s used his engineering background to become a natural and engaging presenter for BBC Television and The Discovery Channel.
He is also known for his uncanny resemblance to record breaking Quarter-Back Aaron Rodgers. Tom visited Green Bay to meet his doppleganger and a short movie by NFL Films covering his trip became a viral Youtube hit.
