Award winning guitar legend Michael Schenker will release a new studio album entitled “Bridge The Gap” on FRIDAY 22nd NOVEMBER. Released by in-akustik, the album features Schenker’s Temple of Rock band which consists of ex-Scorpions drummer Herman Rarebell and bassist Francis Buchholz, vocalist Doogie White (ex-Rainbow) and Wayne Findlay (guitar, keyboards).
The new album features 13 hard-hitting, adrenalin fuelled melodic rock’n’roll songs that showcase Schenker’s distinctive and explosive guitar playing, valiantly underpinned by the ferocious rhythm section of Rarebell and Buchholz, marking the first time Schenker, Rarebell and Buchholz appeared on the same album together since the Scorpions’ 1979 Lovedrive.
Scottish vocalist Doogie White, who co-wrote the album with Schenker, soars across every song, and stamps his enthusiastic personality with every note and phrase. Wayne Findlay adds another dimension to the dynamic, classic Schenker sound with his Dean 7 string guitar and keyboard orchestrations.
Bridge the Gap is a thunderous, explosive collection of brand new songs steeped in shades of dark and light. Musically and lyrically, the new album shows a re-energised guitarist at the top of his game, surrounded by top drawer musicians.
The album was recorded from January to March 2013 at Kidroom Studios, Germany and was produced by Michael Schenker and Michael Voss, and engineered by Voss.
ss myself. The Rock Guitar Sound that I fell in love with, mostly expressed as Lead break, is what I have nurtured and treasured all of my life. Combined with the infinite spring from within and the amazing musicians around me I keep expressing an ongoing development of my Art(Being). With Temple of Rock I am entering a new stage of my life, a new level of existence enjoying life more than ever, reaping the joy of all sorts of developments from the past.
Also, it seems to me that collectively, with true expressive makers of Rock Music, we have been building the external Temple Of Rock for many years and have now come to the point of putting on the roofing and celebrating the almost completion of the Temple. All generations of this period are meeting all over the world on one stage it seems celebrating an Era of ‘Hand Made Rock’ which will never be the same again due to invention of new technology but of course New Temples and New Wonders will arise to enjoy expressions in new ways.”Boasting Ex-Scorpions stars Herman Rarebell and Francis Buchholz on drums and bass respectively, MSG stalwart Wayne Findlay on keyboards and the magnificent Doogie White (ex Rainbow /
Yngwee Malmsteen) on vocals, "Temple Of Rock 2013" concerts will include a plethora of hits spanning Michael Schenker's colourful career.
Songs to be performed on "Temple of Rock 2013" will include UFO's "Rock Bottom" and "Doctor Doctor", MSG's "Armed and Ready" and "Into The Arena", and the Scorpions classics
