SECRET AFFAIR + THE CHORDS UK

Secret Affair (Ian Page, Dave Cairns, Dennis Smith & Seb Shelton) formed in 1978 from their previous incarnation as the “power pop” band New Hearts. In a period of a little over two years, they posted five releases in the UK Singles Chart, and released three albums. The debut single "Time For Action" reached number 13 in the UK chart, putting them at the forefront of the mod revival movement. More chart success followed with "Let Your Heart Dance", "My World", "Do you know" and "Sound Of Confusion". They also drew up plans for a smart-dressing youth movement - "The Glory Boys" – based around the idea of 1960s gangster chic, influenced by the movie, "Performance."

The Chords were, along with The Jam & Secret Affair, one of the biggest bands of the late 1970's Mod Revival scene. Their debut single "Now it's Gone" was released in 1979 followed up by "Maybe Tomorrow" which got the band their first appearance on Top of the Pops. Their debut album "So Far Away" reached number 55 in the national charts in 1980. The Chords broke up the following year in 1981.

The Chords UK feature original band member Chris Pope on guitar and vocals along with Mic Stoner, Kenny Cooper & Sandy Michie. The band perform all of the hits by The Chords along with new material from their debut album "Take on Life" which is being launched tonight.
