JOY COLLECTIVE & FLOWER OF PHONG PRESENT...
THE SPACE LADY
A welcome return to Cardiff for this legendary outsider artist and true original. Susan Dietrich Schneider started playing on the streets of San Francisco in the early '80s, dressed in silver with winged helmet, playing covers and originals through a dreamy, eerie rickety keyboard set up. Her songs, a real unearthly mix of covers and originals, circulated as bootlegs before finding release in the 2000s, leading to ace label Night School issuing her 'Greatest Hits' in 2013. If you saw her on her first tour three years ago you'll know this is a real, real treat.
In 2017 Cate Le Bon and Tim Presley toured as DRINKS. Their backing band became the support act SNACKS. You may see familiar faces from Sweet Baboo, Pheenus, Islet and possibly more - who will turn up? What will they play? I dunno.
THE TWELVE HOUR FOUNDATION
A Bristol duo of Polly Hulse and Jez Butler, TTHF make pulsing analogue synth noises, heavy on musique concrèt and the Radiophonic Workshop. Squelchy burbles that fans of Ghost Box or John Baker will drool over (and everyone else will enjoy).
