Be immersed in the art of today with an array of mediums on display ranging from performance art and architectural works, to photography and sculpture – you’ll get to explore it all!

Royal Academy of Arts History
The Royal Academy of Arts Exhibition is open to all artists looking to showcase their latest innovations. Over almost 250 years, the RA has continued this tradition since its founders agreed to hold an ‘Annual Exhibition of Paintings, Sculptures and Designs’ to help finance young artists. This summer, you’ll get to join in the celebration of a variety of artists’ new work and discover the latest trends in the art world.

Exploring a Variety of Artists
One of the most fascinating things about the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts is the versatile range of artists that are exhibiting. Particular areas of interest for this year’s Summer Exhibition include the well-known artistic duo, Gilbert and George, who specialise in performance art and photo-based works, the intriguing installation artist Isaac Julien and an immersive, interactive piece of art by Matilda Perrine.

Purchasing the Art
As you learn and discover the many wonderful pieces of art on offer, you will have the opportunity to purchase many of them either on the day or online through the Summer Exhibition Explorer. Once you’ve finished exploring the exhibition, you can even stop off for a refreshing summer cocktail in the beautiful RA courtyard - open until 10pm on Fridays!
