R&B star Beverley Knight, who starred in the West End’s The Body Guard and currently in Memphis, is set to play Grizabella in Cats when it returns to the London Palladium for a limited run in October.
Nicole Scherzinger played the role in the record-breaking musical last year featuring the classic Lloyd Webber score including Memory which has been recorded by over 150 artists from Barbra Streisand and Johnny Mathis to Liberace and Barry Manilow. Directed by Trevor Nunn, with Gillian Lynne as Associate Director and Choreographer and designs by John Napier. Based on T. S. Eliot‘s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.
