Four couples, three bedrooms, two celebrations, one blazing row and an illicit kiss (or two). Alan Ayckbourn's Bedroom Farce shines a brilliant spotlight onto the trials and tribulations of suburban marriage
Peter Hall returns to Bedroom Farce some 32 years after he co-directed its London premiere with Alan Ayckbourn at the National Theatre - a production also seen in acclaimed seasons in the West End and on Broadway. Peter Hall's productions of Uncle Vanya and Love's Labour's Lost were two of the highlights of the Rose's first year.
Alan Ayckbourn has written almost 75 full length plays, more than half of which have gone on to the West End. He is the most successful playwright in the world and celebrates his 70 birthday this year.
A master of tragi-comedy The Guardian on Alan Ayckbourn
Hall is enjoying a blaze of glory, directing with freshness and magnificently catching the miraculous mixture of humour and sadness with superb precision. The Daily Telegraph on ETT's Uncle Vanya
