ROALD DAHL's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, 'Theatre Show of the Year' winner at the London Lifestyle Awards 2015, is brought to life in a brand new West End musical directed by Academy Award® winner Sam Mendes. When Charlie wins a golden ticket to the weird and wonderful Wonka Chocolate Factory, it's the chance of a lifetime to feast on the sweets he's always dreamed of. But beyond the gates astonishment awaits, as down the sugary corridors and amongst the incredible edible delights, the five lucky winners discover not everything is as sweet as it seems. Featuring ingenious stagecraft, the wonder of the original story that has captivated the world for almost 50 years is brought to life with music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman (Grammy® winners for Hairspray; Smash), a book by award-winning playwright and adaptor David Greig (The Bacchae; Tintin In Tibet), set and costume designs by Mark Thompson (Mamma Mia!; One Man, Two Guvnors) and choreography by Peter Darling (Billy Elliot The Musical; Matilda The Musical). A chocolate garden, an army of squirrels and the curiously peculiar Oompa-Loompas in this gigantic Olivier Award-winning musical that is choc-full of fantastical treats to dazzle your senses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this - back for my 3rd time! This west end show is so amazing. This time I have come with my three lovely children. My children absolutely loved it. My son who is 8 did not take his eyes off the stage (except to keep thanking me for bringing him). Our seats were centre on and four rows in. Could not believe our reduced ticket price. Definitely book again through see tickets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magical The play is lovely, the children (7 and 9) were watching it on the edge of their seats all the way through. Some parts, e.g.: the tiny people in the factory were pure magic, my son still wondering how it was done. I saw Matilda after this play, and even that - although being lovely - wasn't anything like Charlie and the Chovolate Factory. The only problem is that we had the cheap tickets on the upper circle and all of us felt dizzy until we got used to the view. It is very steep, and in other places I've never had problem about height. But we all forgot about it once the show started. Lovely! The only thing keeping me from seeing it again is that I can only afford the cheap tickets and the feeling on top left me with a bad memory.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great evening for the whole family Took my Mum along to see CATCF. The performances were all great, loved the ingenuity of how the Oompa Loompas worked!!! We didn't realise the songs are not the same as from the original film (with one exception), so that was a little disappointing, but all in all a brilliant night. We added on the bean to bar Chocolate experience at Hotel Chocolat. That was absolutely worth booking if you can, it was brilliant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must See for all children (& adults) I took my 7 year old granddaughter, who finds it hard to sit still, so with fingers crossed we settled down to watch the show. She did not move or even look at me when I spoke her. She was totally mesmerised. There were so many scene changes & great pace. Of course all held together by an amazing cast. We both totally loved the show our best show so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely magical My partner and I were so looking forward to seeing how they had managed to adapt Charlie and the Chocolate factory to a stage production and we just beamed from start to finish, I even cried when Charlie got his golden ticket (at the age of 54!) and when they got in the lift and sang that magical song we both had tears in our eyes. Was just magical.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Summertime and charlie and the cholate factory in London! Myself and my 7 year old daughter visited London, and during this trip we went to see Charlie and the choclate factory. Wow, what a magical experience for Shania. She was truly engrossed in the performance, it had a modern twist along with the original story. A truly memorable theatre experience for both of us.
