ENDGAME

In Beckett’s one act play, the aged and blind Hamm (Mark Rylance) and his bullied, hapless servant Clov (Simon McBurney) co-exist in a mutually dependent and irascible relationship. Trapped in a strange room they have only Hamm’s dustbin-bound parents Nagg (Tom Hickey), Nell (Miriam Margolyes) and a toy dog for company.

Together they are condemned to peruse the hopelessness of their situation, all too aware of the inevitability of death.

Directed by Simon McBurney, who also plays the role of Clov, ENDGAME is Complicite’s first production since their hugely successful Shun-kin at the Barbican. Olivier and Tony Award-winning actor and director Mark Rylance, joins the production following a sell-out run of Jerusalem at the Royal Court, together with veteran stage actors Miriam Margolyes and Tom Hickey.
