AGAINST CAPTAIN'S ORDERS: A JOURNEY INTO THE UNCHARTED Suitable for Families with Children aged 6-12 years. Adults may not attend unless accompanied by children aged 6-12 years What can I expect from this experience? Against Captain's Orders: A Journey into the Uncharted is no conventional museum experience. The following will help you navigate your visit: This is a promenade show; you will be active for the duration of the experience and sturdy, closed toe footwear is recommended. All bags and coats will need to be checked into the cloakroom (there will be no charge for this). Take a look at the Punchdrunk website (http://punchdrunk.com/enrichment) to find out more about the kind of experiences that Punchdrunk Enrichment creates. Do children have to be 6-12 years old? Yes, we're afraid so. Against Captain's Orders has been developed to be appropriate for this specific age range and the success of the experience relies largely on children aged 6-12 years making up a critical mass of the audience. The immersive and interactive nature of the exhibition means that there needs to be interaction with the audience. The company's experience of making work for this age range means the nature of the questions, problem-solving and decision-making is aimed specifically at this age group. Can I attend without children? Unfortunately not, for the same reasons as above. How long is each session? 50 minutes. How far in advance of my booked time slot should I arrive? To ensure that your experience starts on time (unfortunately late comers cannot be admitted) please allow enough time to leave coats and bags with the cloakroom and pick up your tickets. We suggest that you allow 20 minutes after arriving at the Sammy Ofer Wing entrance of the National Maritime Museum to get this done. Is there a different price for children and adults? No, all tickets are priced at ú19.75. Can I attend if I have access requirements? Yes, absolutely. Please contact our Bookings team on 020 8312 6608 to make arrangements. Will large print guides be available? All interpretation is provided orally so we are not providing printed guides for this experience. What facilities are available on site? A selection of fresh food, drinks and snacks can be enjoyed at the Museum Caf┌ and PAUL Bakery. During your visit you can enjoy the green space of Greenwich Park, which is a stone's throw from the Museum. The Museum Shop and Exhibition Shop are treasure-troves of gifts for adults and children alike, and you can also shop online. How do I get to the Museum? Greenwich is 8 minutes from London Bridge and 12 minutes from Cannon Street by train. You can also get to Greenwich via the DLR (Cutty Sark, zone 2), river boat (Greenwich Pier) and bus. Can I take photographs or use video? Unfortunately we can't allow you to take photos or video recordings at any point during the experience. Will any theatrical effects be used? There may be areas of darkness and confined space during the experience (there will be plenty of staff on hand to help if this causes concern at any point). Theatrical effects such as haze and strobe may be used.
