Amy Wadge and Pete Riley first came together a little over two years ago to do some writing. They immediately clicked and after many years as solo artists or as members of various bands, they decided to collaborate and have been touring, writing and recording together ever since. Together they penned an album's worth of material and have now decided to release it. The new album, "Rivers Apart", which they have also co-produced, was released on March 17, 2011.

RIVERS APART
Self-released AWCD004PR
*****
They gel together incredibly well with this collaboration nothing short of remarkable.
Over the past few years, Cardiff-based artist Amy Wadge has released some excellent records. ACOUSTIG was enthralling and BUMP can be found on many people’s Top Album lists but here we find that Amy has teamed up with Pete Riley for this eleven song record. Having toured America during the past ten years with Edwin McCain and his own band Treehouse, Pete has returned home to his native Liverpool and the UK is a better place for him being here. Having first joined forces two years ago to write material, Amy and Pete found that they clicked and decided to collaborate on further tracks with this album the product of that initial idea.
Over the course of the record, Amy and Pete take turns in providing lead vocals on many of these tunes which can all be described as being excellent. With Easy On Me, Amy’s minimally played acoustic guitar allows for her distinctive vocals to prove themselves once more. Her vocals efforts are that good that they instantly grab you and stay with you long after the song has ended.  On Dance With Me, Pete is the one singing his heart out with Amy more than amply providing backing vocals. The vocal combination of these two is sublime and makes the feet tingle as it is that good especially when the mandolin is tenderly played.
This is a simply marvellous album by Amy and Pete. Future collaborations? I urge for this suggestion to come true with every inch of my soul. Russell Hill

Amy returns to the road after a year out to have a second baby. She is widely regarded as one of the country’s most successful female singer/songwriters. Over the course of five solo albums, two collaborations, numerous compositions for other artists and hundreds of live performances all over the globe, she has established an outstanding body of work. Her voice is simply amazing with a breathtaking range and emotional impact while her song writing continues to surpass most of her contemporaries.  ‘An irresistible, riveting performer' - Bob Harris, BBC Radio2
