What people are saying about Baroness

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Baroness Live in Leeds It was great to see Baroness live again in the UK, especially considering their tragedy a few years ago. Excellent performance with great energy plus made more so by seeing a band smiling and clearly enjoying the experience. They're one of my favourite bands and I feel very fortunate to see them at a local venue. The venue is a good size and even feels intimate. My only criticism is with the Leeds university sound technicians. The overall sound quality was below par. It could have been a little louder and better clarity added to the mix. Often the sound of the four band members seem merge into one. A little more bass would also have been an advantage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Baroness riffs galore What can I say, it was the first night of the tour and the first time Baroness had visited since having a dreadful vehicle accident on their way to play the Joiners a few years ago. I like many others was going to attend that night and instead was hoping that everyone involved were ok. Thankfully they were and at the Engine Rooms proved that they are one of the best live bands on the circuit at the moment. Playing a ton of new songs from new opus Purple and finishing with crowd favourite Isak from Red, they were outstanding from start to finish. I met a load of mates from bands and bars from Reading to Aldershot to London and back to Bournemouth. Top notch gig, well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This gig would be in the highlight reel of my life. Where to start, baroness have been one of my favourite bands since I discovered them at the time yellow and green was released. It's always being impressed when a band can replicate the studio and album sound so accurately. These guys were so tight, and clearly love what they do. I was completely lost in the amazing atmosphere they create. The passion shines through and I had a bloody great night. Take my bones away and march to the sea live were amazing, I would see them again tomorrow!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Baroness Rock! Baroness were awesome - loads of energy and I love the lead singers grinning! The sound in the metal venue was surprisingly good as was the atmospeheric lighting that changed with the song from the album - purple lighting for the Purple album, Yellow and Green etc etc The support were good too - I likened them to a heavy Muse, with a great driving base line and a phenomenal drummer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dystopia Heavy Prog Metal Legends Never have I beamed so much at watching a band play. Every track was incredibly tight and the atmosphere was overwhelmingly abuzz with a real community of appreciative support. I felt honoured to be at the gig, and I am amazed that this band aren't filling stadiums like wembley, but equally grateful that they don't. Nice one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gig but cut short! Baroness put on a great show, with great energy and musicianship throughout. It's rare you see a band put such effort into engaging with the crowd for the entirety of a gig. Unfortunately I, along with the rest of the crowd, were disappointed that their time on stage was so short (5-6 songs shorter than other venues played this tour). The band themselves clearly wanted to play longer but implied that they couldnt. The gig finished at about 5 past ten, meaning a lot of songs people were hoping to hear didn't get played. I don't know whether this was the fault of the venue or the organisers. Presumably the venue insisting on an early finish to use the room for a student club night afterwards. It would have been good if this could have been avoided, either by the band being given an earlier start time or the venue being more accommodating, given the subsequent event after runs till four AM. May sound petty but when you've flown over to the UK to see a band it's a bit disappointing. Otherwise though, a great gig and credit to the place. Sound was decent and the venue had a good vibe.
