What people are saying about Bat Out Of Hell

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I was so much looking forward to this, we travelled 2.5hrs on the train. But, I was sorely disappointed. The storyline was weird, even some of the sentences didn't make sense. Nowhere when buying tickets were age restrictions mentioned... definately not for under 16s, this should really be highlighted due to the swearing and extremely provocative scenes. Great singing though & the finale was what I'd hoped for. Unfortunately I had to sit through the first half & most of the second half to get to see anything enjoyable. I noticed afew people even leaving before the end. Do not sit in the circle, most of the play is at the top half of the stage, which we couldn't see because of the balcony, our seats were not advertised as restricted view, but they definately were. Such a shame, the set, the talented cast & special effects had such potential to be a fabulous show, but the bizarre, abstract script just ruined it, I didn't get it at all, I would not go & see it again or recommend it to anyone else.

Meatloaf should be so proud of the way his music has be portrayed in this musical. I would recommend this production as a must see for anyone who enjoys a musical. Well done to one and all for giving us a fabulous evening would definitely go and see it again.

More Information about Bat Out Of Hell

BAT OUT OF HELL, the new musical based on Jim Steinman's storied collaboration with singer Meat Loaf, arrives in London and Manchester BAT OUT OF HELL is a romantic adventure about rebellious youth and passionate love against the backdrop of a post-cataclysmic city. Following Strat, who has fallen in love with the daughter of the despotic Falco, BAT OUT OF HELL is a high-octane rock'n'roll adventure that tears through over 20 of Steinman's songs, including: I'd Do Anything for Love... (But I Won't Do That), You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night), Dead Ringer For Love, It's All Coming Back To Me Now, Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad and Bat Out Of Hell. This brand new musical is directed by Obie Award winner Jay Scheib (Powder her Face for New York City Opera; World of Wires and Platonov, or the Disinherited, at The Kitchen in New York), meanwhile Grammy Award winner Jim Steinman began his career in musical theatre, including the lyrics for Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind and the music for Tanz der Vampire.
