Being - A film by Devlin Crow Tickets
Sorry there are no shows for Being - A film by Devlin Crow right now.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Adrienne from Outstanding evening I was invited to the premiere of Being - A film by Devlin Crow and attended with my husband and daughter. The venue, Dingwalls, situated just next to Camden Lock was an easily accessible location. After a short queue up outside we got our hand stamps and entered the venue. There was quite a wait for drinks at the bar but no matter, we were in good company, and just chatted to other people waiting. The music playing while we waited for the film was loud but not too loud and a nice mix of 60's/70's with an always welcome smattering of Northern Soul. The room was packed and mostly standing room only so it wasn't possible to get a totally clear view of the film from start to finish. The film itself was quite short and was played on a loop so any parts missed on first viewing could be seen on subsequent viewings. The mix of actors was interesting and a combination of some of the original cast of Quadrophenia, Mark Wingett and Trevor Laird, and actors not previously known to us. The 'hero' was impeccably played by young actor Joshua Farley. The film was a refreshing and uplifting take on what could potentially be a very difficult and sombre subject. It reinforced awareness of MS, the 'caring' system and the challenges faced by all those involved and also the bullying which can increase the already not insignificant burden for young carers. The story itself was uplifting and melded perfectly with the stunning soundtrack. The 'must see' film of 2017.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nortystweets from Modernist tale Stupidly, I knew little of the film before arriving. I was captured by the Mod theme long in advance of arriving. Thoroughly thought provoking; bullying, illness, friendship and being handled so well by cast in front and behind the cameras. And smile..... You just gave to when the there are scooters and Mods around with QUADROPHENIA thrown in the mix... And special music.
