Rated 5 out of 5 by Gabfish from Danny Brown The music was great, been a massive fan for ages. Security were horrible as was trying to get my stuff back from the cloakroom. Apart from that It was well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by unbalanceduk from A suitably atrocious night As a newcomer to the Marble Factory, I was pleasantly surprised to discover how intimate the venue is. The 550-capacity hall means no queues for the bar, easy access to facilities such as the merch stand, and even those at the back feel just as much a part of the action. We were greeted with a short set by Brown's tour DJ, Skywlkr, who played a variety of genres spanning from Brown and DJ Spinn's juke/footwork track "Dubby" to mainstream grime (Jme's "96 Bars of Revenge" and Stormzy's "Shut Up" during the interval conveying Brown's long-held respect for the genre) throughout the course of the night. Primarily a huge Danny Brown fan, I'd decided to do my research on ZelooperZ' discography before showing up. I was amazed that he didn't take the opportunity to play their renowned collaboration, "Kush Coma", as a warmup, but seriously admire the artistic integrity of performing a set of 100% originals! Comprised mainly of 'Bothic' tracks, the singles "Isbd" and "Elevators" especially went down a treat. I was also thrilled to meet him after the show and get a photo; he's showing so much promise as an up-and-coming artist. Danny built anticipation for his appearance with a drawn-out and heavily EQed version of Joy Division's "Atrocity Exhibition", the source of inspiration from which he got his album title. Sporting a Hanson shirt (pictured) and selling a variety of grungy, gothic black tees, Brown bounced onstage, more in touch with his 'rockstar' lifestyle than ever, and this was perfectly encapsulated in opening track "Die Like a Rockstar". His set served as a rapid chronological journey from 2011's critically-acclaimed 'XXX', through sophomore album 'Old' and the explosive Rustie collaboration "Attak", to today's hits "When It Rain", "Really Doe" and "Pneumonia". Energy levels were high (as were many members of the audience); prospects were grim for our ribs and shins during the mosh pits; and the lyrics were as raw and unadulterated as ever. A perfect night in my eyes.
