Rated 3 out of 5 by Samuel Escudero from Good performance but too short We saw DJ Shadow at Concorde 2 in Brighton last wednesday. Nice quality sound at this venue but was too short, like 80 minutes. Not enough for a 25 pounds service,

Rated 1 out of 5 by ReddFoxx from Re-Writing the Past Poorly This seemed like an exciting opportunity to see a superstar in a small venue. I loved this guy in his day and hoped to hear the same talent reinvented for the times we live in. Unfortunately shallow references via the graphics to risistance etal were unconvincing platitudes to a generation who have moved on and a world which has changed in the last two decades. Music aside (which is probably best) DJS was one of the least charismatic DJs I have seen (and there is some tough competition on that front) and just couldn't lift the evening. Tiny nods to hooks from earlier works in no way sated my appetite for great emotive music. The forty something audience looked keen to be seen, more that wholly buying in to the waning talents of DJS. Even they were unconvincing and clearly uncomfortable in their largely failed attempts to move with the sounds and one could hear constant loud conversation from the throng who one would have expected to be there in awe of their hero. The sounds lacked any punch. DJS just looks and now sounds like a guy who rarely leaves his bedroom and I so wish he would. To give this show some positive spin, all I can say is that the graphics were superb. I just pity the poor creature tasked with listening to this dirge over and over while syncing it all to the sounds.
