Esperanza Spalding Vocalist and bassist Esperanza Spalding is one of the scene's fast rising stars. She's come a long way in a short time - playing with Joe Lovano and Stevie Wonder, amongst others - and has just picked up the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, becoming the first ever jazz musician to receive this prestigious accolade. Following the sell-out of her April show weeks in advance, she returns to the UK to play an additional Barbican date in July.
