What people are saying about Every Brilliant Thing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, skillful & honest Every Brilliant Thing is about suicide, love, loss, shyness & yet it is hilarious, joyful & life-affirming. The writing is so fresh & engaging, at times poetic, mostly conversational & often improvised with the audience. It involves the audience in a non-intimidating, masterful & surprisingly moving way. The performance is honest & bold. Highly recommend seeing this. Transferring to Edinburgh I believe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A really great show in a brilliant venue This is a really life-affirming show - and the Roundabout Theatre is amazing - it's really small and there are no bad seats anywhere in the house. Go see!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engaging, moving, fun. Great play, great performance. I don't usually like audience involvement, but this is very un-scary and involving. James Rowland did a great job communicating the story to us, and making us all feel involved. Lovely venue too, perfect for this show.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An All Round Excellent Experience! I invited a friend to join me on what looked like a fun theatre experience and it did not disappoint! In fact, we were treated to a lot more - the script was excellently written and masterfully executed by a one man wonder. He knew a secret to success, however: collaboration - many audience members had roles to play and we all delighted in seeing the magic of improv on a brilliant structure that allowed for spontaneity and delight even when dealing with some difficult topics. We enjoyed every minute of the performance with its spot on comedic timing and intelligent use of the 'roundabout' space. Take my hat off to the main actor and the two writers! My friend commented after the show that she wanted to find out what else they have written because it is sure to be wonderful as well.
