Rated 4 out of 5 by McFee297 from Lissie delivers yet again As this was my 9th time seeing Lissie, it will come as no surprise to discover that my thoughts on this show are positive. There is simply no denying the power of her voice. This was exemplified midway through the set when a broken cable threatened to scupper a planned solo acoustic slot. Rather than changing the show and getting the band back on stage early, she played "Oh Mississippi" completely unamplified, and then did an acapella version of "Bully" (albeit this time with the aid of a microphone). The new songs sit perfectly with the ones from the previous 2 albums, with "Sun Keeps Risin'" a particular standout. Her backing band - having only rehearsed with her for a week - are more than up to the job, meaning the older songs sound just as good as you remember them. The crowd are reverent throughout, breaking the silence only to cheer and applaud at the end of each song - and for the odd sing-along moment along the way. The blend of songs from each of the 3 albums works well, and she is an artist who clearly knows which ones have the biggest impact on the audience. "Everywhere I Go" is just breath-taking, and for the encores she makes sure the energy levels stay up to the very end by closing with "Little Lovin" and "In Sleep". Lissie deserves to be playing to massive audiences, but if mid-sized venues are the limit of her reach in the UK, you won't find anyone complaining about being that close to such a musical force of nature.
