Rated 1 out of 5 by chrisma from Great artists, poor event/venue management Only attended the Friday night, thankfully. This was Laura Cantrell's one and only UK gig this year and it was ruined by about 1/3 of the audience talking loudly throughout, plus she wasn't allowed to play any encore. Instead we were 'invited' to the next-door bar to hear Peter Bruntnell. Well I say hear, sadly we couldn't hear him at all, despite standing about ten feet from him. Again, 2/3 of the audience not interested in listening, despite Peter being the only artist playing. At one point he had to stop playing and leave the stage to ask people to stop making noise at the side of the stage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FredHarvey2 from Welcome new addition to the range of festivals I have clear ideas about what constitutes a good festival and this one matched most of them. 1 It was indoors and free of mud and inclement weather.Otheres may rejoice in mud -i do not. 2 It featured a single musical genre -in this case Americana, alternative country etc 3 The timetable minimised overlaps between acts 4 Food and drink prices were reasonable. 5 The venue was within easy reach of hotels and other amenities The programme was well constructed and merchandise reasonably priced. My one grumble was the relatively little seating available .At 70 standing for long periods of time is not high om my list of thrilling experiences . It was good to experience a range of both US and UK acts in thjis emerging genre and I would certainly attend another such festival, aching legs permitting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Theglorymill from A great introduction to Americana I loved the fact there were 2 rooms a gig venue & a bar with bands playing alternatively between the 2 always on the hour so you didn't have to miss anyone or remember stage times if music was your thing Some people though stayed in 1 room or the other especially if they were in a group

Rated 5 out of 5 by minijem from Promising start Friday's headliner Laura Cantrell was superb as expected, but was the only well-known name. They needed a big name act to close the event. There were some nice surprises like Shawn James on Saturday afternoon when the audience was being attentive. At other times there was a distracting background babble particularly in the bar. For my taste ther were too many loud bands, and the sound level was generally too high. I left early on Saturday as I was getting a headache. It would have been nice to have more acoustic bands and soloists - more bluegrass, roots and Americana (classic country). Still I wish them luck for next year! It would be nice to find the schedule of acts online or available in hard copy.
