Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rival Sons & Graveltones - love 'em both! OK, now Swansea isn't on the same side of the country as me, but when I saw Rival Sons were playing small venues I couldn't resist. (I went on to Wrexham the following night). They never disappoint and I was really glad I made the effort. Support from Graveltones was a bonus as I've seen them even more than the RS guys!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great view, great night My son And I went to this event and both of us found it to be a great event, well organised and with great facilities. The band and their support, Graveltones, were as good as they ever are and the size of the venue gave a nice intimate feel to the night. At no time did I feel too far away from the stage and had a terrific view without crowding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best live bands in the world right now. Not to be missed! I've seen Rival Sons a few times now and they are without doubt one of the best live bands around. Storming riffs, mesmorising guitar solos, truly stunning vocals from Jay Buchanan and a fantastically tight rhythm section with some super-funky sounds. If you like rock'n'roll what's not like? These guys are up there with the best. I would recommend seeing them play anytime you have the opportunity, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gig of the year... This was my first experience of Sin City in Swansea.. first impressions were, well, its small, grubby, post industrial, what are we doing here ? ... but what a night that followed. Early summer and one of the warmest evenings of the year, things just got hotter and hotter. The Graveltones kicked us off and turned in their usual stellar, all out, nothing left behind performance. The sound in the venue did them a dis-service to a degree, too much volume and distortion but didn't detract too much. We had a sprinkling of new tracks from their latest album and a few more familiar to the audience before their short set came to an end. Then Rival sons... not the first time I have seen them, but never in such an intimate setting in a venue this size. I have to admit to a certain liking for these guys, in Jay Buchanan they have probably one of the worlds top rock singers at the moment, and guitarist Scott Holiday can really make his instrument sing. The rhythm section of drummer Michael Miley, and bassist Dave Beste were in a groove all night, and newish addition on the keyboards Todd Ogren-Brooks looks like he has been there his whole life. In what was clearly a warm up set for the ensuing European festival scene, and right on the back of a far too early, Sunday slot at Glastonbury they set the place alight. They stormed into "Electric Man" from their most recent offering " Great Western Valkyrie".. and proceeded to treat the audience to a selection of other songs from GWV, along with a few old "tried and trusted" favourites. "Torture" getting the old audience call and response chants going well, and a touching dedication from Jay to his son when performing "Face of light". It will be a rare occurrence to see this band in such a small and intimate venue, it was hot, the walls and ceilings were literally running with condensation, but this was an unforgettable night. This is a band on the verge of greatness and I will always cherish the memories of a very special night in their company.
