Rated 2 out of 5 by Owlfacedboy from Too wasted for words As per previous reviewer, absolute disappointment, having not seen him live since Reading 2004. The backing band and singers were immaculate throughout, but in comes Rodney, with a stumbling, slurring, mumbling, head-scratching, trouser-dropping, audience-abusing, terrible performance. Slightly more sober towards the end, but utterly inexcusable. A member of staff mentioned that he was wasted when he arrived at the venue at 17.00, so had about 4 hours to sort himself out - or maybe the management should have, as they were clearly aware. I've bit my virtual lip for a week, but decided to write this, and will be contacting the promoter too. Rodney - you need to show your fans some respect dude, as I'm not convinced I'll be venturing out to see you again soon. I made it through the whole performance as a matter of principle, unlike many who didn't want to hear any more of their favourites butchered.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Tilly123 from The most painful viewing experience. Ever! When myself and my boyfriend arrived we were buzzing with excitement, I go to a LOT of gigs but this is the one that I was looking forward to the most. The support act, Bobby ....(insert forgotten surname here), was great. She had a crazy stage presence and fantastic flow, we were pretty blown away actually. Then, the main event, the bit we had been looking forward to all evening...and wow what a disappointment! Roots came onto the stage stumbling around and slurring, and generally looking 'off his face'. We didn't make it all the way through and left about 40 minutes in, I couldn't face hearing him butcher Witness, he'd already spoiled many of my favourite other tracks. The problem was that he was so unable to pull it together, pulling at his ear pieces constantly, unable to work out what to do with his hands, dropping the mic...it was sad, depressing and actually annoying. The only saving grace was his backing band, they were amazing. They held it together like consummate professionals. Without them the crowd would have left after a few songs, of that I have no doubt. So all in all, a big thumbs down. I get people needing something to get them on stage or to get them in the right frame of mind to perform, however, this was beyond anything I have seen. The crowd paid good money for this gig and I imagine we're all feeling massively short changed.
