Show Me The Body Tickets
Rated 5 out of 5 by LewisThorntonBlack from Best gig I've ever been to My girlfriend and I were only able to catch the last couple of songs of Antique Pony and then we were a part of the main event, Show Me The Body. The band started with feedback, the lights were backlit and singer/banjo player Julian Cashwan gestured the crowd to come forward, which everyone did. They started with their song Aspirin, and moved onto their second song in which the singer placed his banjo beside his amp and moved out into the crowd, getting intimate, aggressive and passionate with the crowd, pushing me and grabbing others all as he was shouting into his microphone. The set continued with everyone playing their instruments while frantically head banging and moving their bodies in a frenzy. The last song in the set was Body War, the opener of their debut album of the same name, and for the last part of the song, the singer placed his banjo down again and came out into the crowd again to get even more aggressive and passionate during a mini mosh pit between me and three other guys, pushing one man to the floor and grabbing me shouting into my face. After the show ended I spoke to the band and mostly the singer, about his tastes in music and the music scene in New York, which the band are from. They signed my girlfriend and I's tickets and were very appreciative of our support. It was loud, intimate and an incredible display of musicianship, I recommend everyone check this band out, as I truly believe they're one of the most innovative bands out there now, I have high hopes for their future and am really looking forward to hear what they do with their future.
