What people are saying about The Comedy About A Bank Robbery - Flash Sale

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Night Out A laugh a minute from start to end. I don't know how the cast keep up the fast paced dialogue and action, it was brilliant. Yet another hit from the Mischief Theatre company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superbly silly spectacular My friend and I had already seen - separately - The Play That Goes Wrong and Peter Pan Goes Wrong (on the BBC) but when I told him Mischief had another show on he insisted on completing the set! I'd been meaning to go anyway so I booked a Sunday evening (how nice that some places still do Sunday shows). We were on the front row, which was marvellous in lots of respects but a more all-encompassing view would have been better for some scenes. The stage is about a metre above stall floor level which is comfortable for me (no crick in my neck). The theatre is relatively small so all seats should provide a nice view. The opening scene is ridiculously silly and sets the tone for the farce which reminded my friend in several respects of "Little Shop of Horrors." It's set in the 50's, there is wonderful singing, and it is VERY funny. Although it is silly, it is also wonderfully clever with several self-referential elements which had the audience teared-up with laughter. The origami sets are clever, the lighting is beautiful, and the performances are perfect. Such wonderfully orchestrated chaos is a tribute to cast and crew (the cast acted as stagehands, integrating scene changes into the general action). There are a few risqué bits but if I had older kids I would consider it family entertainment. It certainly is a perfect night out for a couple of grown-ups. I would not hesitate to recommend either this or The Play That Goes Wrong for an impressive first date (hint, hint).
