What people are saying about The Damned

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing as always Great venue great food and great people all set in wonderful village in yorkshire

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Captain can actually play guitar! I last saw the Damned in 1988 at a packed Brixton Academy. It was electric. The beer flew off the front rows and the sand flew off Scabies' drums. It was one of the best ever. But the St. Mary's gig has to be up there as well. What it lacked in scale it more than made up for in intimacy and atmosphere. Let's face it, a deconsecrated house of God is the perfect venue for such an irreligious act. A great set and, unlike in 1988, I got to bask in all the Captain's idiotic glory. Wonderful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Damned good. 40 years and still packing venues out. The Damned still play with an energy, and humour, that shows why they still are value for money. Both Dave Vanian and the Captain feel like they have stepped straight out of 1976/7, playing most of the first album as well as the first time I saw them in 1978; New Rose still gets the blood pumping, not to mention 'Fish', 'Born to Kill' and Smash it up, part 1 and 2'. Great night, great venue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hot sweaty and funny Great to see Vanian and the Captain in live action at last,.... and Oxymoron... he's nuts and is therefore perfect for The Damned... The played a blinding gig and looked like they were really enjoying themselves - as we did - we were lucky to get to stand by the window as it was so hot in there - takes me back many years The Captain plays a mean guitar too

Rated 4 out of 5 by from the Dimned, the Damned, the Doomed It's been many years since I gave up my membership of the Flashman Society so this was very much a nostalgic experience for me. The support acts were solid, I like the venue anyway, and then the Damned played in sweltering heat putting in some songs I hadn't heard live or hadn't heard in ages. Thank you all concerned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Damned, 40TH anniversary tour. We booked to see the band for York and Holmfirth and they didn't disappoint, The Damned lack none of the power and catchy riffs that date back to the heady punk days but now have an extensive back catalogue and 40 years of experience playing live to fall back on. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Damned deliver again Having been a fan of the Damned for over 30 years and seen them many times,i was still blown away by their performance at Reading. They played songs of of all their LPs as well as fan favorites such as New Rose,Neat Neat, and Love Song, finishing with Smash it up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Damned Having been a "fan" of The Damned since the seventies this was actually the first time I can remember seeing them live. What a gig, but has Dave Vanian shrunk??
