What people are saying about The Icicle Works

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why is this man not a superstar? Ian McNabb a man out of his time. If he had been part of the "Brit pop revolution" he would be a household name. A league above Blur, Oasis et al, McNabb drives us through the Icicle Works repertoire with real joy and no great rush. Two 75 minute sets encompass all that is great about British indie pop rock. Can't wait to see them play again. My highlight ? All of it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Icicle Works at O2 academy in Oxford on 22/4/2016 I really enjoyed the gig but was annoyed about the time it took me to get parked up as when I finally got into the gig I found out that it had started at 7.15 and I had missed nearly an hour of the concert. They played till 10.00 so I saw 1 hour and 45 mins so I enjoyed that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A superb gig! I have been a fan since the 80s and have introduced my wife and later my two sons (now in their early 20s) to the Icicle Works music. They are all fans so we went to this gig as a family, along with my brother and his wife and a friend. We all had a great evening, with a few beers before and during :). The band are not the original line-up but were all quality musicians and combined with Ian McNabb's voice and presence made for a really good show. The Icicle Works are a very underrated band, I can't understand why the show wasnt a sell-out. If you didn't get to this gig, go to the next one, you won't be disappointed! Look up "Hollow Horse" or "understanding Jane" on YouTube for a taster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crafted, catchy songs always stand the test of time I last saw The Icicle Works at Liverpool Royal Court theatre in 1984.Some 30 years on the band still deliver well-crafted songs which more than stand the test of time. The Fleece is a haven for pure music afficianados -good acoustics, good vibe and good selection of beers.the highlights was the last hour of the show where all the hits and most of their first album was played out,all with Ian McNabb's deadpan Scouse wit thrown out in between the songs.hopefully I won't have to wait another 30 years before I next see them.
