What Is The Vintage Festival? Whether your thing is swing, rockabilly, mod, soul, funk, disco, ska, film, art or design, Vintage Festival is a sensual delight, a big dressing-up box, a collector's dream and a joyous creative feast for all ages. For one glamorous weekend we celebrate the music, fashion, film, art, design and dance from the 1920s to the 1980s that has made Britain the world's creative and cultural hot bed. Over 3 days, pass holders can watch over 70 live acts and 150 DJs, as well as get involved in 'learn the dance' classes and design and fashion workshops, catch specially curated live performances, catwalk shows, and eat brilliantly conceived food and cocktails, as well as take advantage of the decade specific hair and beauty makeovers and all the wonderful vintage shopping on offer. Join us for the Britain's best looking and most uplifting long weekend of the festival season. MUSIC Sergio Mendes of 'Mas Que Nada' fame & his orchestra, Aloe Blacc, Chic Ft Nile Rodgers, Nouvelle Vague performs Dawn Of Innocence, Baxter Dury, Betty Wright, Alice Russell and St Etienne. VINTAGE NIGHTCLUBS The immersive set dresses of the Vintage nightclubs will each be dedicated to a different decade and feature real dancefloors and sound systems. We'll have 1940s swing, 1950s rock n roll and 1960s pop, easy listening and mod culture, 1970s soul, reggae, funk and disco classics and warehouse rave, boogie and house culture from the 1980s. Truly something for everyone. Torch Club - 1920s-40s entertainment with Ondrej Havelka and his 15 piece Melody Makers, the world's leading 40s exponents hailing from the Czech Republic, James Langton, Jivin Miss Daisy and dozens more of the world's most authentic performers all curated by Snowboy. Let It Rock - Brings rock culture with The Damned, The Polecats, Alien Sex Field, DJ's Keb Darge, Gaz Mayall and Jay Strongman. Hosted by leading brands such as Gaz's Rocking Blues, Shake, Rattle & Bowl and Lady Luck. Leisure Lounge - Taking us back to the 60s is Buddy Greco, Secret Affair, The Sorrows, Mike Flowers Pop plus sessions curated by Guilty Pleasures, Club de Fromage, Count Indigo and a DJ set from Martin Green. Soul Casino - 60s and 70s northern soul, funk disco and reggae sounds feature live performances from The Impressions, Junior Murvin performing "Police & Thieves", Lonnie Liston Smith and Smoove & Turrrell and iconic Soul Casino DJ's performing exclusively together Searling & Roberts from the Wigan Casino and Levine & Curtis from the Blackpool Mecca, as well as DJ sets from Don Letts, Craig Charles and The Soul Casino's curator Eddie Piller and more. Warehouse Party - Bringing the 80s rave, house and boogie culture to Boughton Estate will be DJ's Norman Jay, Danny Rampling, Horse Meat Disco, Greg Wilson, Terry Farley, Graeme Park, DJ Milo, Sub Club vs Back to Basics and dozens more. If you have access requirements at the 2012 Festival, please read through the following information: REGISTERING TO USE THE FACILITIES ON SITE: We ask that anyone with accessibility requirements onsite emails us at info@vintagefestival.com Or send it by post to Vintage Festival, 59-65 Worship St, EC2A 2DU EMAIL and POSTAL NOTIFICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY FRIDAY 29th JUNE 2012. In our commitment to make the festival accessible to everyone, we will provide those disabled ticket holders that require full time assistance with a free ticket for a personal assistant. To take advantage of this scheme, please specify when you email info@vintagefestival.com . You will be required to provide copies of recent (2011) DLA letters that show what your current level of care or mobility allowance is. We appreciate that some people may require assistance but not receive DLA, please contact us to discuss your access requirements. When you buy a Vintage Festival ticket through any outlet you automatically qualify for this scheme, you will receive a confirmation email which you must present on arrival at the event. It's that simple! We do ask that only those people that would be unable to attend the festival without the full time assistance of someone query through this scheme. The scheme is only available to ticket holders, so children aged 10 and under are not eligible. Each request will be looked at individually. The scheme is not run on a first come first served basis. We don't send out free tickets in advance: access will be granted on site at the event. You can call our Information Line on 020 7688 9000 if you would like more information. Your confirmation email will contain full information on where to go and what to do on arrival, plus a site map. FACILITIES: - If you are a Deaf customer please note we will be providing a hearing loop at the main box office/ticket-checking point, the location of this will be made clear in the access information. We are sorry but there are no interpreted performances, or staff members who can sign at this time. - We have an area for assistance dogs, which will also be clearly marked on the access info, and is located next to the site welfare operation. Viewing Platforms You require a Disabled Access Wristband to access the viewing platforms. They are solely for the use of disabled people and their PA's. We have viewing platforms at the Main Stage only. Lighting will be provided where the stage associated with the viewing platform is operating in darkness. There will be an adapted toilet nearby. There is no shelter on the Main Stage platform. There will be no specific announcements prior to the use of strobes and lasers. Strobe flicker rates will be at or below 4 flashes per second. Medical Services, Welfare and Assistance at the event Festival Medical Services provide comprehensive medical advice and treatment facilities and are very flexible in meeting specific needs. You are welcome to contact us at info@vintagefestival.com before the event if you require further information. Access: Vintage Festival is on a green-field site with some tarmac paths. There are sheltered areas (marquees) and non-sheltered areas. Weather and ground conditions may be variable. The route from the parking areas to the site is over tarmac paths. Accessible toilets and showers will be available on site, these are 'festival style' portable toilets and showers, all of which will be signposted, and shown on 'you are here' maps around the site. One of the accessible toilets will be located at the viewing platform next to the Main stage. The accessible showers will be in the campsite. The Main Stage disabled viewing platform is raised and access to this is via a ramp next to the Front Of House Position in the Main Stage Arena. OTHER FACILITIES There will be sign posted information/welfare and First Aid points located within the same area on the site. NAVIGATION A site map will be available in May, copies will also be available from the Information Tent on the day.
