Rated 5 out of 5 by leopardracing from Best first gig for several years Discovered Natalie Mering when combing the line up for Primavera festival in Barcelona, which I go to every year. Her Weyes Blood collective went straight onto my must-see list and I was delighted to be able to see her live a month before setting off to Barcelona. The performance at the Dome in Tufnell Park was superb, the sound you get from the records is accurately represented even in this relatively small venue. The voice is the key, a deceptively emotional weapon of great depth and surprising, consistent power - a cursory listen on Spotify might trick you into thinking that Weyes Blood stick to one theme and milk it, but listen more carefully and you might find yourself addicted to the intelligence, range and power of Merings talent. In particular check out the previous two albums to enjoy her progression and feel her development. I am so looking forward to 3rd June in Barcelona. PS: Check out her pre Weyes Blood history, it's fascinating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by copjab from Weyes Blood - The Dome - 13th Apr 2017 This gig went way beyond expectations. I had been anxious that Mering's vocals would not have the same impact in a live setting as they do on disc. However, Natalie was note perfect; the overall balance of the sound meaning nothing detracted from the enjoyment of her voice. This was a strong performance and watching the drummer get increasingly into the swing of things was a treat. Weyes Blood deliver songs with an emotional punch, so I hope it isn't long before they're able to leave off the covers - Moon Light Shadow as an encore? - and rely on their own material to build a following that will take them to bigger and better venues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gerryman from Beautiful voice I'd just bought the new album and was amazed to see she was performing in Brighton. I think the sound system let her down a bit but maybe I was too close. Natalie has a wonderful voice and writes some excellent songs. She derserves to play at better venues.
