What people are saying about Wolf Alice

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The band of 2015 Wolf Alice came on stage with the strobing presence of an established act. Although, they're considered a new act they've had some great EP's out prior to their debut album 'My Love is Cool' and this strength in depth of their material provides an anthemic night across different genres of sound at the best venue in the West Midlands, the O2 institute. The fantastic character of the theatre like venue, only adds to the atmosphere. Wolf Alice are a band for the fans and who live off the energy that resonates from the crowd this evening, dusting off fan favourites 'Blush' and 'Moaning Lisa Smile' to a sold out crowd amongst album tracks 'Bros', 'Giant Peach' and my favourite 'Freazy'. The floor is bouncing, the crowd are loving every moment of this Wolf Alice show and in Ellie Rowsell we witness one of the finest front women this country's produced in recent time, effortlessly applying herself to every song, which ends in a rapturous applause from their loyal fans. In repayment to this loyalty Ellie jumps into the crowd at the end of the gig & crowd surfs back onto the stage. If you were there...you were privileged to witness the best new band in the country, a superb performance indeed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Down with the Kids! Hands up - I`m 59 and went to the gig at the Institute Birmingham by myself. I bought my first single in 1963 (yes it was The Beatles) so I`ve been listening to music for a long time! Wolf Alice`s album My Love is Cool is, in my opinion, the best debut 'full' release since Doppelganger by Curve in the early `90`s. Great variation in the songs and, when added to the two earlier EP`s, provides great material to fill an hour. Made Violent and Drenge were excellent too - so all in all a great gig.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wolfie Wildness The most epic most beautiful of nights. Hauntingly beautiful. The supports buzzed up the entire crowd everyone was ready to mosh by the third song and by the time Ellie and the boys got on the stage the crowd was ferral for more knee jerking soul shaking good tunes. And Wolf Alice surly delivered even though they were down a Theo (get better soon bumble b) genghars "axe slinging" bassist/guitarist held down the fort. Falling in love with the light glances up to the crowd and knowing smile as Ellie screeched through giant peach, I fell in love. The whole venue did. What a night. 10/10, cant wait till Reading now

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still buzzing! Wolf Alice are my favourite band and there's always something magical about hearing the songs you listen to alone at 2am sung to you and about a thousand other people singing it back. The Brixton crowd was pretty much one big mosh and everyone had just lost all their inhibitions and were going mental. We came out drenched in sweat and booze and couldn't have been happier. Can't wait for Wolf Alice Round 9 in March!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best gigs I've been to This was my first time seeing wolf Alice live and it couldn't have been better! I went with 2 of my friends and it is an experience we will never forget. Glitter glistened from everyone in the room as the band started the night of with their song 'you love is cool' which was truly amazing, Joel's drumming was loud and clear as the crowd swayed and repeated the lyrics back to Ellie. The last song of the night was 'giant peach', a song that really got the mosh pits going and Ellie even came down from the stage and sang into the crowd, a truly amazing experience ! Anyone thinking about going to one of their gigs in March, book now !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feral and Ferocious It was amazing ... the best band I have seen in five years. so much light and shade in the performance - swallowtail was an epic burner, bros so sweet and turn to dust noteably dark and mysterious. But I will not forget them finishing with giant peach - and filling the venue with the immense shuddering sound of a band on the up. And to see Ellis throw herself in the crowd at the end crowd surfing whilst acknowledging the applause was fab. If you get a chance to see them please do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great band live! Wolf Alice are a great band live. Seen them a few times over the last couple of years & they've just gotten better & better! Support act were Drenge who should be headlining Brixton anyway. Brilliant gig, Brixton academy is one of my favourite venues in London, all round winner!
