What people are saying about City And Colour

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another 5 star show This man never fails to impress. The combination of his writing, his voice, and his bands amazing skill with their instruments never fails to blow me away every time I see City and Colour. Definitely one of the greatest musicians around, but yet somehow he keeps his head below the mainstream radar which always keeps him fresh and his shows a little more intimate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful venue, stunning show lights and incredible artist! Having never been to the Troxy before I was taken aback how much character the building had. The Art Deco interior was the perfect setting for the incredible light show that accompanied Dallas Green's superb show. He played a number of new songs off 'If I should Go Before You' including the title song along with a handful of classics such as Hello I'm In Delaware, What Makes A Man, and the wonderful The Girl. Amazing show from a very talented man!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from City and Colour Incredible gig, great venue, a top nights entertainment. Never thought I'd get to see this band, and it was way better than I thought it was gong to be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The bits I heard were great.. The venue was nice, good view from pretty much all places but sound quality was so muffled that you couldn't make out any lyrics for either act. Really, for acoustic sets you would expect a much sharper sound

Rated 5 out of 5 by from City & Colour - well worth the wait ! After missing Dallas' last tour I couldn't wait for this gig and it didn't disappoint, fantastic acoustic and a great venue at the Troxy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing. At first I was skeptical of a gig at the Troxy, I'd never been there before so I didn't know what to expect but the sound and acoustics were good and it's a seemingly adult venue in comparison to the places im used to like electric ballroom and Brixton academy. Lights and sound were set up very well and fit the vibes of the show. Parking around the venue wasn't so bad considering it was a sold out show. To the music... Regretfully I missed the majority of the support act though fortunately I caught a few of the songs. Stunning voice. Been looking her up on YouTube since aswell as deeper listening to the new city and colour album. City and colour exceeded my expectations. Dallas Greens voice echoed through the Troxy like a modern day Neil Young. The set list and atmosphere from decidicated fans was a pleasure to watch and sing along to. The encore was probably my favourite bit. It began with Dallas on stage alone with an acoustic guitar doing some classic songs. Specifically my favourite C&C song 'The Girl' which began acoustic and the band came on half way through to enhance the experience and be consistent with the studio version. The tempos seemed somewhat slower but more structure had been given to many of the old songs and newer songs like 'woman' sounded even more spectacular live. Truly not a bad note played the entire evening. Simple yet incredibly powerful music. All in all, very few bands and acts have the capacity to generate the atmosphere that city and colour and I would put them up there with the likes of Massive Attack, Black Sabbath, Nas, David Gilmour and Prince for the atmosphere and sound. Obviously it's down to personal taste though I feel City and Colour is applicable to the ears of many though. Certainly worth the money :D

Rated 3 out of 5 by from bands great, photographers ruined it So for the first 3-4 songs there were about 6 photographers swarming the front just before the stage, you could hear the clicks and they were very distracting. Lucy Rose was incredible, city and colour didn't seem that into it, not much interaction with the crowd but a solid set.
