Rated 5 out of 5 by from Setlist of little played classics Another outstanding gig from Opeth. Opeth focused on playing some of their rarely played live songs at the expense of songs from the Sorceress. I was a little disappointed with that until they starting playing Windowpane, one of my favorite songs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prog metal showcase This concert was always going to special for prog metal fans, with the pairing of Black metallers-gone-prog Enslaved with, the genre's mightiest sons, Opeth. Enslaved tweeted beforehand how grateful they were to be here and it showed. Like the headliners, they write long and involved songs, so 45 minutes wasn't enough time for me to hear a lot of my favourites but the band showcased some of the strongest tracks from their latest release E, along with some highlights from their impressive back catalogue. The perfect opening act. Opeth mainman Michael Akerfeldt has recently described how he's already tired of last year's mighty Sorceress album and looking forward to some time off. You wouldn't know it from the stunning delivery of the album's title track which opened the show however. Expert musicianship is of course no surprise, but the show's no less impressive for it, with everyone in the band getting the space to showcase their talents. The frontman straddles the line between weary resignment and knowing self-depreciating humour well, admitting he's a bit tired of certain songs, sharing stories of some fans' resentment of previous albums and playfully deriding his band mates. It's a lighthearted counterpoint to the moody lights and visuals which are as much a part of the show however, and is a good example of how the band don't take themselves too seriously - indeed, much less seriously with some outfits who have a 10th their talent. All in all a great night of music - and even the surprising odd mosh pit thrown in!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Opeth - still on form after 25 years! I've been a fan since the days of 'Still Life' and my musical tastes have broadened along with Opeth's exploration into different genres. If you love melodic Death Metal don't expect the standard to apply, but anticipate a broader musical journey.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a nice gig The supporting band had technical issues and the lights were poorly directed. There was a flash pointing at me which was pure white and very strong. Absolutely not needed. The opeth show on the other hand was really well presented
