What people are saying about Live At The Chapel

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My second visit in 4 months! My husband took me to se my favourite, Reginald D Hunter, in October for my birthday and I enjoy the whole event (the gig, beautiful venue, food, drink etc), that as soon as I got home, I book the next event we could attend. Needless to say, we had another great night. We saw high profile performers in an intimate venue (stadiums are hideous for comedy) and thoroughly enjoyed it (the Chapel also supports the homeless so you have a great night out and contribute to worthy charity). We'll go again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great comedy venue Went to see Joe Wilkinson, Joe Lycett, Lolly Adefope and Rob Delaney. All acts were amazing with the exception of Rob Delaney who repeated an old routine from about 5 years ago - unpracticed and lazy. Do not both with him - the others are amazing. Venue is fantastic!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just not that funny The venue is an interesting one, but getting refreshments is a nightmare. Yes, the seats are pews, and people reserve seats by putting coats on them. However, the acts just weren’t that funny. Some people were laughing in an artificial way and only because they thought they had to, between the three of us, the best we managed was a couple of smiles. All very disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comedy at the Chapel! Great gig at a venue we love. Brigid Christie and Sara Pascoe we're the standout but all the acts were good. And the compere, Fin Taylor (?), was the best I've seen since Mark Thomas. Champion!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great gig but.... Union Chapel is an amazing place and a great commedy gig line-up. But why with only four acts are there TWO intermissions? Too much time sitting around waiting for something to happen. Kills atmosphere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Venue, Awful Sound! If you visit the Union Chapel, try to avoid sitting upstairs as the sound quality is terrible! It was almost impossible to hear anything at all, there were no seats left downstairs so we had to stay where we were. It's a shame as I had sat upstairs before and it was fine. I couldn't see a single speaker upstairs which would have enabled the audience to hear anything properly at that level. No alcoholic drinks are permitted in the main auditorium also which just seems odd?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comedians generally excellent The venue is amazing, very beautiful and impressive. The comedians were very Good, not a bad slot. However the energy and flow of the evening was completely killed by the huge breaks between acts. Minimum of 15 mins wait between acts or compare, meaning that there was a total of 55mins hanging around after the show had begun. The somewhat completely killed the energy and atmosphere in the room that the compare and acts did such a good job at capturing. Throughout the excellent last act a large number of people in the room were asleep. Everything was excellently set up but the planned timings of events somewhat ruined it for me
