Following its critically acclaimed, sold out World Premiere in 2018, Touching The Void transfers to the Duke of York's Theatre for a strictly limited season from 9 November.

Directed by the award-winning Tom Morris (War Horse) and based on Joe Simpson's best-selling memoir, turned BAFTA-winning film, this extraordinary story charts Joe Simpson's and Simon Yates' struggle for survival on the perilous Siula Grande mountain in the Peruvian Andes.

Life-affirming and often darkly funny, David Greig's thrilling adaptation of Touching The Void takes the audience on an epic adventure that asks how far you'd be willing to go to survive.

What people are saying about Touching The Void

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic use of theatre Christmas outing with family ages 14 - 84. Excellent staging including climbing up an improvised mountain made of chairs and tables and abseiling back down. Some bad language - appropriate warnings outside the theatre - but not too much. Comfortable seats with a good view.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extraordinary theatre Amazing to think anyone couldrecreate climbing a mountain on stage but this production pulls it off. The hero spends most of the second half lying on the stage imaging his sister beside him as he hauls himself out of a cravase and down the mountain. It shouldn't work but it does. Extraordinary power of theatre to fire the imagination. Our performance was interrupted by a technical problem. 15 minutes later it was fixed and the actors carried on seamlessly. Well done everyone involved with this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but..... Different from the film and book, but liked the interpretation. Very disappointed at the gratuitous swearing - so unnecessary. Took my 12 & 15 year old and even they were surprised at the amount of swearing. Doesn’t need it the story sells itself.
