Absent Kelly Introducing: The Palpitations
229 Venue 2, London.
This event is for over 18s only - No refunds will be issued for under 18s.
We’re bringing a huge bill of new indie acts to the West End’s 229 with a load of our favourites.
The Palpitations are a hotly tipped grungy indie/rock band from Luton, who combine elements from influences such as Nirvana and The Smiths, to create their signature sound. They may be relatively new to the scene, but we can see big things on the horizon for them.
Rock ‘N’ Roll trio, The Breaks will be providing support. Reminiscent of the bluesy feel of the Arctic Monkeys, these guys promise to bring an electric and anarchic performance that has seen them play famous venues, including Camden’s Dublin Castle.
Swilly Chill is a quartet from Teeside who blend Indie, Pop and Rock sounds with smooth vocals and vibrant live shows that have connected with the audiences around the North of England. The band have already impressed the promoters with their sound that’s reminiscent of Kings of Leon.
North London lads Piperline will be there too. This talented pair will be bringing their catchy pop rock to the stage. If their new single “Scarecrow”, which has just dropped, is anything to go by, these boys are going to be a real treat!
London based Pilgrims’ Dream is a talented singer-songwriter and official finalist in the 2017 American Songwriting Awards, and the Hollywood Songwriting Contest. With his new release 'Ocean'. With this recognition already, we can't wait to see what he does next!
Fantastic Mr. Marcel will also be there with his infectious indie pop that fuses elements of soul, blues, rock and funk to create something feel good and unique. This singer-songwriter has already impressed promters Absent Kelly before, and is set to do so again.
Opening the show is Toby Charles will be bringing his brand of modern blues to the stage for the evening. Toby’s voice is truly captivating and has seen him gain great reviews and airplay on renowned stations, such as Amazing Radio.
