Absent Kelly's Indie Cafe: no mad
Cafe 1001, Brick Lane - London.
This event is for over 18s only - No refunds will be issued for under 18s.
We’re bringing a bunch of AK faves to Brick Lane’s Cafe 1001 this June to start festival season in style.
Topping the evening’s bill is no mad. no mad are a five piece from London that play sublime funk rock that is impossible not to dance to! Their distinctive sound has seen them turn heads all over the London underground circuit, gaining them airplay on Shoreditch Radio and support slots alongside big names like Space.
Lo-Fi indie rock quartet Project Culture will be bringing their unpretentious sound to the stage. The band have already played famous venues including Kingston’s Fighting Cocks, and have impressed promoters Absent Kelly before, so we can’t wait to see what they do next!
The Crooked Kings are a quartet from London whose blues tinged indie rock is modern, unique and catchy as hell! This sound has seen the band championed by the likes of BBC Introducing and play big name venues including the Camden Assembly.
AK faves Hijakkt will be there too. This London based band will be playing their brand of feel good Americana inspired indie rock, that has seen them share bills with big names, including alt-J and play iconic venues like London’s Scala.
We’ll also be joined by Overfield. This London outfit are the new incarnation of old friends of AK, Tripp Hazard, and they specialise in playing bluesy, funky classic rock, reminiscent of the likes of Fleetwood Mac.
Fantastic Mr. Marcel will also be there with his infectious indie pop that fuses elements of soul, blues, rock and funk to create something feel good and unique. This singer-songwriter has already impressed us before, and is set to do so again.
