Absent Kelly's Sonic Sketch: Celesta
Notting Hill Arts Club, London.
This event is for over 18s only - No refunds will be issued for under 18s.
We’re rocking West London again this April, so get down to Notting Hill Arts Club for a bill of some of our favourites.
Topping the evening’s bill is Celesta. Celesta is an acoustic duo consisting of Rob Gore on vocals and guitar, and Alex Chalstrey on piano, playing original material informed by Folk, Jazz & Blues. This unique sound has already seen the band play famous venues including Brixton’s Hootenanny and the Half Moon in Putney.
Providing support is The Stoned Crows, a London quartet who specialise in crafting old school rhythm & blues with a rock edge. Their signature sound has seen them bag slots at big name venues, such as Islington’s O2 Academy and record at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis.
Leicester’s Stylite are coming back to the Capital, this time with the full band. The band’s brand of alternative indie/folk has seen the act support up and coming names like Hunter and the Bear, and gain a loyal following on their local circuit.
Wild Phoenix will be joining us from Oxford for the show. This semi-acoustic band may be relatively new to the scene, but have already bagged slots at some of their local stalwart venues, including the Wheatsheaf.
After impressing Absent Kelly before, Rosie Whittle returns. Rosie is a singer songwriter from London who writes simple but infectious pop songs that has seen her championed by BBC Introducing. With Rosie’s distinctive and delicate vocals, we’re sure she’ll go far.
Tanaka is also back after playing a blinder for the promoters before. Tanaka is a London based songstress who creates atmospheric, cinematic, soulful jazz, combined with elements of Trip Hop which is totally unique!
