Widely regarded as one of the best-known poetry voices in Britain, Acclaimed playwright, actor and writer Murray Lachlan Young is celebrated for his hybrid mix of stand-up comedy and poetry with delightful commentaries on the bizarreness of contemporary life.
Coinciding with the April 2017 publication of How Freakin' Zeitgeist Are You', Murray's new collection of works on Unbound, Murray presents his new show. Live and onstage, expect flamboyant punchy wit and brooding subtext with empathetic humour and occasional attacks of original erotic folk song. Comedy and spoken word entwined.
A man whose performance clips have notched up over 250,000 hits on YouTube and known for his numerous appearances and residencies on BBC Radio 2 Arts Show , Radio 4's Saturday Live, current resident poet of BBC 6 Music and BBC Test Match Special and The Shipping Forecast.
He has most recently co-adapted the new movie version of the Dylan Thomas classic: Under Milkwood . No stranger to the big screen himself Murray has also appeared in About A Boy, Vatel and Plunkett & Maclaine. Murray’s first stage play, The Incomers, toured nationally as well as residencies at The Union Club, Soho and The Arts Club in Dover Street.
There was also an appearance on BBC Newsnight, commissioned works for Vauxhall Motors and Magners Cider, and recent appearances at countless festivals including Glastonbury,Edinburgh Festival, Latitude, Womad, Beautiful Days, Wychwood, Cornbury, Festival No 6 ,Good Life Experience, Do Not Go Gentle , Laugharne Weekend, Huddersfield Literature Festival and Port Eliot.
