Catfish specialises in performing on National Resophonic guitars, an instrument he first picked up on as a teenager after hearing blues legends such as Bukka White and Son House. He continued to hone his craft learning directly from luminaries such as Dave ?Honeyboy' Edwards and Jesse Mae Hemphill and is today regarded as one of the top pre-war style blues guitarists.
