Doug Carn is most well known for his crop of albums on the Black Jazz record label in 1970's. From 1971-1974 he released four ground-breaking Deep, Spiritual Jazz albums - 'Infant Eyes", "Spirit of the New Land", "Revelation" and "Adam's Apple". Guests on these albums include his wife of the time Jean Carn plus Strata East's Charles Tolliver, Alphonse Mouzon, Olu Dara, Walter Booker, Big Black, Calvin Keys, Dick Schory, Ronnie Laws and more.

Doug Carn was the keyboardist on the first two albums by Earth, Wind & Fire and also worked with Nat Adderley, Lou Donaldson, Stanley Turrnetine, Cindy Blackman and appeared on an all-star Organ album called "Bongobop" as the Essence All Stars with Reuben Wilson, Lonnie Smith, & Joey De Francesco in 1997.

In 1996 Soul Jazz Records/Universal Sound released "The Best of Doug Carn" which co-incided with the first ever live Doug Carn concerts in the UK, which were promoted by AGMP. Tonight, see Doug Carn bring his West Coast Organ Band to the UK for their debut appearance.
