Emergent Bristol-based four-piece Firewoodisland recently released new single ‘Carry Me’, the second single from the band’s forthcoming album Chaos Is The State Of Heart. The album, which follows on from their well-received EPs ILD and Dome, is the band’s debut full length and will be released on 20th April.
The band found a new fan in BBC 6 Music’s Mark Radcliffe at the end of 2017 - their previous single ‘Dearest Brother’ being one of said DJ’s tracks of the year.
‘Carry Me’ is a Wall Of Sound indie anthem, leading with vocal-infused synths and big drums before breaking into the huge sky-high choruses and souring harmonies - a sound they’ve christened “Mountain Pop”. The result is a blend of the likes of Imagine Dragons, Of Monsters & Men, and Highasakite.
The quartet, composed of multi-instrumentalists Stian Vedoy, Abi Eleri, Dylan Jones and Steve Allen, have clocked up massive praise from the likes of Q Magazine, Clash, The 405 and many more with the release of their 2014 debut EP lld and the following Dome EP last year. The band have also received great radio support from the likes of Radio 1, BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and more.
