"The 1975 and Catfish and the Bottlemen having an 80s lovechild." From the Birmingham music scene come La Dharma, a five-piece indie pop band striving to mix catchy pop choruses mixed with strong guitar and spiraling synthesizer sounds. The band started in 2017 made up of long childhood friends Jake Baker and Chris Leedham, they sought out local guitarist Daniel ‘Jonah’ Jones, bass player Mick Madera, and drummer James Morris. La Dharma was then born.
The Extons sound packs a punch, with memorable guitar riffs and anthemic choruses about small-town monotony and the 9-5 drudgery. Already making a name for themselves, with the early demo, Grown Ups, being featured as BBC introducing’s track of the weekend played by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1. They've released 3 singles including “I Won’t Leave Lonely” Which has seen consistent plays on Amazing radio, acclaim from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music & Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1. The single unapologetically hits listeners in the face and blends the simplicity of The Strokes with the energy of Catfish and the Bottlemen and the lyrical grit of Jake Bugg’s early material.
